Looking for some help fitting your mountain bike frame protection kit? We recently shot a new digital advert campaign here at our HQ in Sheffield. We thought we would share some of the images along with a break down of how we recommend you fit one of our frame protection kits.
STEP 1 // GET PREPARED
Grab some snacks, hit play on your favorite album and ensure you're in a clean/dust free environment. Lay out your new bike parts and all the tools you'll need to complete the job. Being organised is key, don't forget that a very wise man once said "Prior Preparation and Planning Prevents Pi$$ Poor Performance"
STEP 2 // MAKE IT EASY
Personally, I like to cut the frame protection up into individual pieces. It makes them easier to position, manoeuvre and fit.
STEM 3 // ADD SOME HEAT & GET GOIN'
Adding some heat to the back of the frame protection activates the glue and ensures a smooth, bubble free fitment. If you do need to peel the piece back off because you've made a small error then the extra heat will really help. For this application I used a hair dryer on a gentle setting. Previously I've used a heat gun and even put a kit in the over for 5 mins too!
Don't forget your bike frame needs to be free of any mud, dust and cleaning chemicals. An alcohol wipe does the trick every time. 
STEP 4 // POSITION AND ADD PRESSURE
You don't have to use one but, the HKT application tool we sell on the website does make this part of the process easier. Unlike your fingers, thumbs or a credit card you'll be able to press out any bubbles to the edges. I always start in the centre of the frame protector and work outwards.
STEP 5 // STAND BACK AND ENJOY
This is the second best part of this process. Stand back, admire what you've done, snap some photos for the gram and be safe in the knowledge that your pride and joy is protected. Your bike has never been so spoilt.
STEP 6 // GO BIKING
The BEST part of the process. Grab some mates and head out for a ride on your new protected, personalised pride and joy!
