Made using a hard wearing organic resin, these brake pads will bed in quickly and provide sharper braking response than sintered pads. Especially suited to lighter riders and more undulating trails Organic brake pads retain more heat than sintered, and transfer less heat to the rotor increasing rotor life. Although only marginally lighter in weight than sintered pads these organic pads are a popular choice for cross country and enduro racing alike.
These metallic compound or ‘sintered’ brake pads provide improved wet weather performance over organic brake pads, and will work more efficiently at the higher rotor temperature caused by heavy and repeated braking. This makes them the ideal choice for riding steep downhill tracks or prolonged enduro missions in rainy weather, when you need it most. Sintered brake pads will take longer to bed in and suit heavier riders as the pads wear less quickly than organic resin pads.

WHICH BRAKE PADS ARE RIGHT FOR YOU?

Sintered

Sintered disc brake pads offer the highest levels on longevity. This compound is created by compressing metallic particles together under high pressures. Sintered brake pads are known for performing specifically well in harsh conditions. Our metallic composition helps them last well in wet weather conditions where grit and grime can wear through softer compound brake pads quicker. Because they are, at heart, a metallic compound they deal well with high temperatures, the kind that are often associated with steep or fast riding, for this reason they are often the go to choice for enduro or downhill racers.

Semi Metal

Semi-metallic or semi metal disc brake pads are designed to hit the sweet spot between organic and sintered brake pads. Semi metal brake pads are manufactured from an organic compound that is infused with metallic fibres. Our organic compound allows the pad to bed in quickly and offer great braking performance. The metallic friction compound adds longevity to the pad and also helps to ensure that the braking performance is consistent even on longer descents. Our semi metal pads are known for performing well in all trail conditions, the softer organic compound helps rotors last a little longer than a standard sintered brake pad.
